No RSS? No Problem!

It’s a nuisance. You’ve found a site you really like and want to find a way to keep track of new content on the site. But alas, there are no RSS feeds. There are many sites that still don’t make these available, so what can you do? MakeUseOf.com provides an article on monitoring sites without RSS feeds that highlights a couple of tools you can use. Of course, you’ll need Firefox to use them, but that’s a great browser and a small price to pay, in my opinion.

IE And Windows Tweaks

If you’re stuck with Internet Explorer but want the functionality that we smug Firefox users take for granted, then check out Get Firefox’s Best Features in IE. This Lifehacker post tells you how to get IE to remember your tabs, have inline spell check and a host of other useful features

While you’re on the site, you might as well give Windows a boost, with Superior Alternatives to Crappy Windows Software. Gina Trapani is speaking my language here, and I’ve used several of the alternatives she suggested. There are a few new ones, though, so check them out and ban the bloat.

Mozilla Adds Live Firefox Chat Support

Firefox Live Chat SupportAre you constantly preaching about the virtues of Firefox but have grown tired of providing support to your family and friends? If so, you’ll be very happy to hear this news. Mozilla, the company responsible for the Firefox web browser, recently announced that a live chat feature has been added to their support page.

Today we are officially opening our Live Chat support to users of Firefox. Users who can’t find their answer in the knowledge base or the forum can now get real time help troubleshooting their issues with more skilled Firefox users.

It should be noted that the support staff is currently volunteer-only and support is not available 24 hours a day, but this is a big step in the right direction.

So, next time you install Firefox for someone, be sure you add a bookmark for the new live chat support.
